The Carrie Brazer Center for Autism has a mission to build strong meaningful relationships with students, families and staff through mutual respect and encouragement. We do this through a variety of services offered at our school such as ABA therapy, behavioral therapy and occupational therapy. In addition to that, we also host an autism summer camp each year to help build a sense of community at our special needs school. The Carrie Brazer Center for Autism also offers two scholarships, the McKay scholarship and Gardiner scholarship to assist students in paying for tuition and other school fees.
ABA Therapy
Applied behavior analysis or ABA therapy is used to increase communication skills, improve one’s ability to focus and decrease problem behaviors.
Behavioral Therapy
Behavioral therapy is used to help stop unhealthy behaviors that a child may have learned to use as a coping mechanism for stress or anxiety.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is used to help children further develop their fine and gross motor skills needed to carry out everyday skills. This might include getting dressed or practicing picking things up with tweezers.
